What Sous Chef Means to Me

 “Laughter is brightest in the place where the food is.” – Irish Proverb

The concept for Sous Chef was born out of personal experiences, which highlighted for me the importance of community support and understanding - particularly in times of crisis. Shared experiences forge strong bonds because they results in innate understanding. Ties built in this way can be hard to break. Often, we equate major life events with this type of bond building. Yet, the process of collaborating with others to create a meal together can result in the same sense of accomplishment and feelings of camaraderie. Plus, sharing a meal with another is an intimate experience because it further builds trust, openness and understanding.

Sous Chef has evolved since inception but the fundamental desire to foster community through food remains! Today, I am excited to invite you into my family to experience our life through the lens of food. I look forward to sharing the meals we enjoy, restaurants we frequent and some of our favorite finds across NYC and beyond.
